Ishara Wins the Best Presentation Award at the First Undergraduate Research Symposium at the University of Kelaniya
Ishara, who is a Semester 8 student of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering won the best presentation award at the First Undergraduate Research Symposium on Environment Conservation & Management (URS ENCM) held on the 29th of January, 2015 at the University of Kelaniya. The symposium was organized by the Department of Zoology and Environment Management.
Ishara won this award for her presentation on the paper titled "Importance of environmental regulations in the small and medium enterprise sector of Sri Lanka" under the theme Environmental Policies. This paper was based on a project that she has done during her in-plant training in the Semester 6 at the EML Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd. The project was an environmental audit to monitor compliance with the environmental regulations of small and medium scale enterprises who have received loans under the ‘Small and Medium Enterprise Development Facility (SMEDeF) scheme’ which was funded by the World Bank.
